Butt has been in the news lately for all the wrong reasons. In April 2019, Butt, who is a midfielder, playing for Manchester United was arrested for allegedly assaulting a lady. Police said that the woman had a small cut on her hand which, thankfully, did not warrant a hospital visit.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek – £1.8 Million, Cobham
Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s five-bedroom home’s insurance must have come in handy back in 2016 when his Cobham abode suffered severe damage after an electrical storm. The incident brought back memories of the same occurrence that happened to his family home 11 years earlier.

The freak incident left parts of his bedroom and the roof damaged but he managed to resolve the situation and continues to live at the house. In 2019, a neighbor lodged a noise complaint saying that the X-rated rap music Ruben-Loftus blasted disrupted their peace. Neighbors also complained about a six-foot-high decking he has at his £1.8 million home.
Adam Johnson – £2 Million, Castle Eden
Adam Johnson found himself on the wrong side of the law which landed him behind bars, serving a six-year sentence, following his arrest for physical assault against a minor. Before he went to jail, he had commissioned the construction of a seven-bedroom mansion.

Neighbors have complained about the house that includes a bowling alley and an indoor swimming pool, saying that it’s an eye-sore. The house went up on a lot intended for a much smaller residence. Some have even gone as far as comparing the £2-million-estate to the Doncaster prison where Johnson is serving his sentence.

In 2019, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain complained about the luxury housing crisis that Premier League players are facing. He had to book a hotel for about two months while he was on the lookout for a residence within the affluent Golden Triangle region in Cheshire.

Alex and his girlfriend, Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards, were rumored to be on the hunt for a house together after she sold her three-bedroom detached bungalow in 2018 for £800,000. However, Perry said she wasn’t moving in with Alex but would consider it if they became more serious.

Mikael Silvestre waited for six years before he bought a house in Knights Keep. The house cost him £2 million and like most football stars, he soon had to put it up for sale when he changed clubs. He initially listed the home in 2009, asking for £4.5 million but sadly, he couldn’t find a buyer.

Silvestre relisted the mansion in 2012 asking for £4.2 million which was quite a decent sum for the Alderley Edge region. The six-bedroom house has a winding driveway, an indoor pool, and a cinema room. It also has a lush green landscape and a spacious front lawn.
Wes Brown – £2.45 Million, Alderley Edge
Wes Brown’s move to Sunderland back in 2010 prompted him to place his Prestbury mansion on the market. He asked for £4.5 million but the house just wouldn’t move, a problem which most footballers selling their mansions in the area have faced.

In 2016, his house was still on the market, but now, for almost half the initial asking price at £2.45 million. The mansion has five bedrooms with five bathrooms, his/hers dressing rooms, a sauna, a swimming pool, and a jacuzzi. It also features three reception rooms and a one-bedroom guest flat above the garage.
Aaron Lennon – £2.95 Million, London
Aaron Lennon is believed to be the owner of a 4-bedroom detached house. His home boasts of deluxe amenities like a sauna, cinema, pool, and a training center. Lennon is said to have bought the house in 2007 when he signed a contract deal with Tottenham.

Aaron started his football career in Leeds United, his hometown club. At 16, he was the youngest player to play in the Premier League at the time. He moved to Tottenham from Leeds where he became a legend playing more than 300 games with 30 goals to his name.

Barry was not able to move the mansion fast enough. Cheshire Live reported that the price of the house has fallen by a whopping £500,000 in 2019. Gareth who last played for West Bromwich Albion holds the record for the highest number of appearances in the Premier League.

For £5.2 million, you can be the proud owner of Sol Campbell’s home. He co-owns the 9 bedroom home with Fiona Barratt, his wife. The couple wants to sell this gorgeous Georgian house to focus on businesses in London. The house offers excellent accommodation with all the luxuries we could ever dream of.

Sol, a former Arsenal and Tottenham defender, is a pro both on and off the pitch. In addition to playing football extremely well, he has also worked as a football team manager for Macclesfield Town, an EFL League Two club. He also runs a charity organization Kids Go Live.
Darren Fletcher – £1.5 million, Bowdon
Robbers raided Darren Fletcher’s home in Bowdon when he was away for a UEFA Champions League match. The armed robbers held knives to the throats of his wife Hayley Grice and her mother. In a separate incident, three men forced their way into the house, stealing Grice’s engagement ring and other valuables.

In 2010, Fletcher sold the home to teammate Darron Gibson for the price of £1.5 million. Fletcher is a Scottish professional footballer and primarily plays as a central midfielder. He is a Manchester United Youth Academy graduate who had been with the team for 2 decades before moving to other clubs.
Ashley Cole – £7.5 Millon, Hurtwood
If Ashley Cole was not such a talented footballer, he would be a successful real estate investor. He made £2.5 million profit after selling the house he used to share with Cheryl, his ex-wife. The couple bought this remarkable home for £3.5 million but he sold it for £6.1 million; £1.4 million less than the original asking price.

Ashley Cole is no longer actively playing football. He, however, wishes to venture into coaching. We reckon he has a lot to offer as a coach seeing that he won more than 10 major titles during his career that spanned about 20 years.
Jack Wilshere – £3.7 Million, West Common
Jack Wilshere listed his mansion, christened the Cavendish House, in 2016, asking for £3.7 million. The spacious house has six bedrooms, four reception rooms, a chilled wine cellar, and a home cinema. Oxbridge Homes are the developers behind the mansion which was completed in 2013.

Renowned real estate agent, John Curtis, marked the mansion on the Rightmove website, listing that the pool room contains football memorabilia. The estate rests on 0.32 acres and the house itself covers 7,200 square feet. Located in West Common, the home also enjoys views of the landscaped gardens, as well as, the nearby Harpenden Golf Club.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – £4 Million, Nether Alderley
When Ole Gunnar became Manchester United’s manager in early 2019, it meant his family would have to relocate to England from Norway. Gunnar had a residence in Nether Alderley just around the Knutsford region which Virgil van Dijk now occupies. Gunnar commissioned the build in 2007 but he sold it after moving back to Norway.

The eco-friendly five-bedroom residence is worth an estimated £4 million. Van Dijk bought it in 2018 when he moved to Liverpool from Southampton. Now that Gunnar has returned to England, he has to make other arrangements for accommodation while staying at the Lowry Hotel.
Phil Jones – £5 Million, Alderley Edge
Early 2017 saw Phil Jones and his wife Kaya relocate to one of the coolest mansions in Alderley Edge. Their beautiful home is surrounded by trees and has a large beautiful garden perfect for parties. Looking at an aerial view of the house, it resembles a home straight out of a movie.

Phil seems to have a bright future ahead of him with Manchester United. This is after signing a 4-year extended contract with the team in February of 2019. In addition to playing in the Premier League, he is also playing for the English national team.
Ian Wright – Price Unknown, Kensal Rise
BBC Sport pundit, Ian Wright, had his house in Kensal Rise burglarized back in 2014. Wright was attending the World Cup in Brazil but his wife Nancy was home with their daughters. Four men reportedly armed with knives broke into his home but fortunately, no one was injured.

Wright seems to have a history of terrible luck with the properties he owns, and as the Mirror reported in 2016 he lost eight houses in the past to bankruptcy. Wright shared that the costly split with his first wife took a bulk of his wealth and he also has eight kids with four different women.
Chris Smalling – £2.5 Million, Manchester
Chris Smalling’s home in Manchester is up for sale. Going by the features of this house, chances are that it will move fast even though the new buyer has to invest £2.5 million to call it their own. The new owner will enjoy a spacious residence with loads of style and comfort.

In August 2019, it was reported that Smalling was to join A.S Roma on loan. Manchester United received £3 million as the loan fee for the old Trafford defender. Chris currently has a contract with United that will last until 2022. Other than playing football, Chris promotes a vegan diet and animal kindness.

Mohamed Salah had highs and lows in 2018 and the worst low he experienced was a health setback when he sustained a shoulder injury. It forced him to exit the Champions League pitch during the finals because he was in excruciating pain. He also had his address in Egypt leaked on Facebook.

Crowds of fans traced his residence and flocked outside his door. While most people wouldn’t take too well to the invasion of privacy, Salah was a good sport and exited his residence to meet his fans. He took photos with them and even signed autographs.

Former footballer Michael Owen, who played for the Manchester United and Liverpool teams, is the proud owner of a £4 million estate located in North Wales. Owen has called the manor located in North Wales home since 2001. The house boasts of an indoor pool, private training facilities, a hot tub, and a bar area.

42 acres of lush countryside surround the mansion with outdoor features including a waterfall. The grounds also house stables, three greenhouses, two cottages, and a coach house. Not to forget the huge play area set aside for the kids and the mini football pitch.

In 2010, a property website listed a five-bedroom house for sale and rumors were rife that it belonged to Jamie Carragher. It was just a case of mistaken identity though because it wasn’t Jamie’s Crosby mansion but one that looked similar.

Jamie who retired in 2007 but returned to the sport briefly for FIFA World Cup in 2010 joked that Liverpool goalkeeper, Adrián, could have his house for free. He shared the tweet after the club’s Super Cup win in 2019 which Adrián is credited for through a penalty save.
Roy Keane – £6.5 Million, Hale
Roy Keane, the former Manchester United midfielder, slashed off an incredible £3 million from the initial asking price for the sale of his Hale mansion. Keane and Theresa, his wife, bought the eight-bedroom spread in 2005 for £3.2 million.

They put in work over the years and the value of the estate must have doubled by at least half of what they spent on it. The 9,500 square foot residence first went on the market in 2010 with a £9.5 million asking price but it failed to attract buyers.
Pep Guardiola – £2.7 Million, Salford
Pep Guardiola, the Manchester City boss, took up residence at a one-bedroom flat in Salford. The unit is within the Deansgate building, right at the city center, in close proximity to trendy shops and eateries. The high-rise flaunts luxury serviced apartments, accommodating both short and long-stay residents.

The residents have access to the development’s state-of-the-art facilities including a jacuzzi, an indoor swimming pool, and a gymnasium. The units cost from anywhere between £76 to £225 per night. However, Guardiola isn’t renting his abode; he paid £2.7 million for this specific unit.
John Terry – £6.25 Million, Surrey
Former footballer John Terry’s Surrey mansion went up for sale early in 2019 with a £6.25 million asking price. The surreal mansion includes an AstroTurf pitch with a putting green, landscaped gardens, a cinema, a sauna, training facilities, and a swimming pool.

The amenities are spread out over 11,000 square feet and three floors. There are four bedroom suites and the guest quarters have an additional two bedrooms. The guest house also opens up to its own full-width terrace. Even better is that the mansion is right next to a nine-bedroom mansion built by the Terrys.
Roberto Firmino – Price Unknown, Mossley Hill
Roberto Firmino is amongst the list of football stars who have had their homes burglarized. In 2016, a hooded gang broke into his Mossley Hill residence and made away with jewelry and other valuables worth an estimated £70.000. The gang had been watching his house and had a failed attempt at breaking in on a different occasion.

Firmino and his family had to take shelter at a hotel because they were, understandably, shaken up by the incident. It didn’t help that it was over the Christmas holidays either. Eventually, they returned home after his club, Liverpool, assigned a security team to his house.
Ryan Giggs – £3.5 Million, Manchester
Early in 2019, Ryan Giggs’ former residence went up for sale for an eye-watering £3.5 million. The five-bedroom home boasts of everything worthy of housing a footballer including a private exercise room, a swimming pool, a cinema, and a bar.

Giggs paid £1.9 million for the house back in 2004 which means he made a decent profit from the sale. Giggs and his former wife Stacey parted ways 18 months prior which could have motivated his decision. His ex-wife and their two children stayed in the house following the divorce but it seems they decided to move on.
Andy Cole – Price Unknown, Oxshott
Andy Cole granted The Telegraph an interview in 2019 explaining that he bought five homes because he believes that you can’t lose when investing in properties. He has a couple of properties overseas and he formerly owned the pictured-above residence in Oxshott. Cole also shared that two of these locations are on a buy-to-let agreement.

Fortunately, Cole had a selection of residences that he could retreat to when he needed to recover from the kidney transplant he had in 2017. Cole started suffering from kidney failure in 2014 and as his condition worsened, he needed a transplant; his nephew Alexander was his kidney donor.

In 2016, Teddy Sheringham and Kristina Andiotis solidified their union. The two had moved in together back in 2012, sharing Sheringham’s home in Chingford, Essex. When she worked in Central London for Precise Media, Sheringham was often spotted driving her to catch the train in his Bentley Continental.

The two met in 2007 and their 20-year age difference was once the talk of the town on social media and entertainment sites. Neighbors also said that they would see Kristina jogging around the neighborhood. They welcomed a son, their first child together, in 2018.
Sergio Agüero – £4 Million, Manchester
Sergio Aguero has one of the highest goal-scoring records when it comes to football, and off the pitch, he scored himself the top-floor unit of a Manchester highrise. The Deansgate Square South Tower building is the fifth tallest in the UK, and a unit costs about £4 million.

Last year, Aguero shared with friends, plans to buy two apartments and convert them into one, within the building which welcomed its first set of occupants around June of 2019. His home unit now stands as a duplex apartment, occupying the 44th and 45th floors of the tower. Aguero’s three-bedroom duplex covers 3,180 square feet and it features walk-in wardrobes.
Rio Ferdinand – £2 Million, Alderley Edge
Rio Ferdinand finally closed on the sale of his Alderley Edge estate after knocking down the price by £2.5 million in 2018. Ferdinand had originally listed the seven-bedroom mansion which he shared with his late wife Rebecca Ellison for £4.5 million.

Ferdinand had bought the mansion right after he signed a £30 million contract with Manchester United back in 2003. The mansion boasts of six bathrooms, a jacuzzi, an exercise room, and an indoor swimming pool. The 1.5-acres of land outdoors is covered by a large garden, as well as, two garages.
Gary Neville – £650K, Lancashire
Gary Neville abandoned plans to build an eco-house styled like the famous residence of the Teletubbies. He shared his plans to build the underground utopia back in 2010 at a location in Lancashire. Neville’s idea of the futuristic £8 million development included a wind turbine standing at 130 ft tall and a carbon-neutral mansion.

In 2017, he decided to sell the 8,000 square foot of land where he intended to build the home, placing it on the market for £650,000. The locals were against the construction of the structure which might have influenced his decision to abandon the plans.
